Overview
The Challenge
Building for both iOS and Android natively would have doubled development cost and time. The client needed a single codebase that delivered a native-quality experience, integrated with health APIs, and supported in-app purchases โ all within a 9-week timeline.
- Dual-platform requirement (iOS + Android) with budget for one team
- Native-quality animations and transitions required
- Health data integration with Apple HealthKit and Google Fit
- In-app subscription model with trial period logic
- Push notification scheduling for personalized reminders
Our Approach
Our Solution
We built OmniHealth using React Native with Expo, delivering a single codebase that compiled to genuinely native performance on both platforms. We integrated HealthKit and Google Fit APIs, implemented Stripe-powered in-app subscriptions, and built a custom push notification engine for personalized daily reminders.
- React Native + Expo for single-codebase dual-platform delivery
- Apple HealthKit & Google Fit data integration
- Stripe in-app subscription with 7-day free trial logic
- Custom push notification scheduler with user preference engine
- Lottie animations for onboarding and achievement states
- Supabase backend with row-level security for user data
- App Store & Google Play submission and approval

Conclusion
OmniHealth proves that React Native, done right, is indistinguishable from a native app. The combination of thoughtful UX, smooth animations, and deep platform API integrations delivered an experience that users rated 4.8 stars on launch.
